Trump Tweets Video Meme of Him Body-Slamming Man with CNN Face, Mass Shooting at NYC Hospital, NJ and Maine Governments Shut Down, Tesla Announces Shipping of Model 3, Germany Bus Accident Kills 18, Baby Driver No. 2 in Box Office, Taxi Accidentally Runs into Pedestrians at Boston Airport, Venus Williams Sued in Wrongful Death Lawsuit, and Trump and Pope Shows Support for Parents of U.K. Baby on Life Support
Hello, welcome to the Daily Moth! It is Monday, July 3. Ready for news?
Yesterday (Sunday) morning, President Trump tweeted a meme video of him fake body-slamming and punching a person with his head superimposed by a CNN logo.
Trump used the hashtags #FraudNewsCNN and #FNN. It was one of his most viral tweets, with almost 300,000 RT’s and almost 500,000 likes.
Neither Trump or his team made this video — the video was first made by a Reddit user — his username is HanA———OleSolo. The original meme was posted 5 days ago. It used an old video of Trump going to a WWE Wrestlemania event. The body of the man with the CNN logo is Vince McMahon, the son of the WWE founder. His wife, Linda, is the current head of the Small Business Administration.
Apparently the meme made its way to the White House, someone edited it a bit, added sound, and it was out into the world through Trump’s twitter, creating division with people either cheering on Trump for “standing up” to media and on the other side saying Trump is a bully, is terrible, and that he encouraged violence against journalists.
When Han A——-OleSolo found out Trump used his video, he said on Reddit, “wow! I never expected my meme to be retweeted by the God Emperor himself!”

Last Friday afternoon there was a mass shooting at a hospital in New York City with one killed and six injured.
The gunman, Dr. Henry Bello, was a doctor who used to work at hospital. He went inside wearing a white coat over a hooded sweatshirt, covering his head. He brought a large cardboard box that had an AM-15 rifle inside of it. He went up to the 16th and 17th floors of the hospital, and shot at his former co-workers, killing a doctor and injuring six others (5 of them hospital staff).
Dr. Bello tried to set himself on fire, then shot himself and that was the end of the rampage. The doctor who died is Dr. Tracy Tam (32). She was not supposed to work on that day — she covered a shift for another doctor. Very sad.
The motive for the shooting appears to be revenge for him losing his job in 2015 from sexual harassment accusations. Dr. Bello wanted to kill a specific doctor, but he was not working on that day.
Dr. Bello recently had a job with the city of New York’s HIV/AIDS Service Administration but was fired last week, and a few days ago, he bought his gun. So it appears he was in some kind of downward spiral leading to the mass shooting.
New Jersey and Maine’s governments are now mostly shut down. In New Jersey, over 30,000 state government employees are out of work — the Republican governor Chris Christie refused to approve a proposed budget because it didn’t include a bill he wanted, he was not able to make a deal with Democratic lawmakers.
So N.J.’s state parks and beaches are closed, angering many people because it’s the July 4 holiday, and even more people were mad when he was photographed on a beach with his family on Island Beach State Park (currently shut down) at a government-owned house. Christie said he has a right to be there because he is the governor — and if others wanted to do the same, they should run for governor.
In Maine, the Republican governor Paul LePage ordered a partial government shutdown after he and Democratic lawmakers couldn’t agree on spending cuts and taxes. But state parks will stay open.
Electronic car company Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk announced they will start delivering their low-priced Model 3 — at $35,000 — to customers who pre-ordered it starting June 28. Musk said the company passed all regulatory requirements and will be able to complete manufacturing them, with the first one this Friday. After that, around 100 cars will be made in August and over 1,500 in September, with a goal of making 20,000 a month by December.
People who buy the car are eligible for a $7,500 federal electronic car tax credit, which makes the car cost $27,500.
The wait times for the Model 3 is very long, though — people who reserve theirs now will have to wait until the end of 2018 to get it. Apparently over 100,000 people have already ordered theirs.
In Germany, 18 people died in a bus when it crashed into the back of a truck that had slowed down because of a traffic jam. The bus started to go into flames and more than 20 people managed to escape before the fire engulfed the bus. Firefighters couldn’t even attempt rescue because of the heat, only being able to spray water on it — when the fire was out, only the metal frame was there.
The bus driver died and the ages of the passengers who died were between 66 to 81 years old. The bus originally had 48 people on it, most of them senior citizens on holiday. Tragic.

At an area near the Boston Logan International Airport, a taxi cab plowed into a group of pedestrians and people sitting at a break area, injuring at least 10 people, sending them to the hospital. Naturally, people were fearful it was terrorism, but police has notified media that it was an accident, with the driver mixing up the gas and the brake pedals.
Tennis star Venus Williams was in a car accident on June 9 with an elderly couple in south Florida — leading to the death of an elderly man, who was the passenger with his wife driving.
What happened — Venus was driving her Toyota Sequoia SUV across an intersection when the other car, a Hyundai Accent, t-boned her. Venus was cited as at-fault in a police report because she blocked the right-of-way of the other driver.
Venus said she saw green light when she started crossing the intersection, but had to slow down because of traffic ahead. It appears she was still crossing the intersection at 5 mph while the green light for the couple’s car went on, with them driving ahead, crashing into Venus.
The man, Jerome Barson (78) had a serious head injury and died two weeks later in the hospital. His wife (68) was also injured, while Venus was okay.
The couple is suing Venus in a wrongful death lawsuit. Venus is currently playing in Wimbledon and won her opening match. In the press interview after the match, she was asked about it, and she teared up, saying it was devastating and she was speechless. She left briefly and returned after someone asked the media to stop asking her questions about the accident.
Donald Trump and Pope Francis are now trying to save the life of Charlie Gard, a 11-month old baby from the U.K. — he has a serious, rare genetic disease that causes him to be both blind and deaf and cannot move or breathe on his own. The baby is currently on life support and the hospital and his doctors have recommended for him to be taken off life support, but his parents want him to be released so they can bring him to the U.S. for an experimental treatment.
The U.K. hospital is currently “holding” the baby in custody. They said they have the best interests of the child in mind, that the baby would be harmed if his suffering was prolonged without any realistic chance of improvement. The parents want to take him to the U.S. for experimental treatment and have gone through several court battles, but and all of them have sided with the hospital/doctors.
Now the Pope and Trump both have taken the side of the parents. The Pope said he was following the case with sadness and wanted for the parents to care for the child until the end. Trump said the U.S. would be happy to help.
It’s still up to the UK hospital. They said there will be no rush to cut off life support, and that any future treatment plans will be carefully discussed and planned. The family had already planned to say goodbye to the child, but now that the Pope and Trump has gotten involved, we’ll see what happens.
That is all for today. See you tomorrow and stay with the light!
