Updates on Murder of Kim Jong Nam

February 15, 2017

Updates with the killing of North Korea leader Kim Jong Un’s half brother Kim Jong Nam at an airport in Malaysia — a female suspect was arrested. She had a Vietnamese passport.

Malaysian police said two females approached Kim Jong Nam from opposite sides and placed a cloth with a liquid on his face. Both women left the area and Kim Jong Nam went to a restroom (probably to wash his face), then went to a customer service desk to ask for police, then went down to see the police, then went to a medical clinic, went into an ambulance and died on the way to the hospital.

His body is now at a hospital where an autopsy is expected to identify the cause of death. There were three North Korean embassy vehicles outside of the hospital, along with multiple Malaysian police officers. It is said that North Korea asked for the body to be turned over without an autopsy, but Malaysian authorities declined, saying it was their duty to finish the investigation because the crime happened in Malaysia.

There is a total of six suspects that police are looking for. South Korean intelligence said they believe that the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ordered his assassination and that there was an attempt that failed in 2012.
