9th Circuit Court Rules Against Trump's Travel Ban

February 9, 2017

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against President Trump’s travel ban — which means Trump “lost” — the travel ban is still blocked in accordance of the Seattle judge’s decision.

The court said the public do need to have strong national security and a president who is able to enact policies, but that the public also do need to have a free flow of travel, in avoiding the separation of families and freedom from discrimination.

The court said this kind of travel ban should not be in effect while courts are still discussing in various lawsuits if it this ban is discriminatory or not.

President Trump immediately reacted on Twitter in all caps saying, “SEE YOU IN COURT, THE SECURITY OF OUR NATION IS AT STAKE!”

This decision is not “final” as it takes months or even a year before the court can make a final ruling on the ban, but while that takes its time, the ban is blocked and normal immigration of refugees/people from the seven countries can still come as normal.

We can expect the Trump administration to continue its strong criticism of any disagreements of their travel ban, and they’ve indicated previously they will take it to the Supreme Court. So that’s coming, but it might take quite some time.
