Update with the triple-murder suspects I talked about yesterday — Billy Boyette and his accomplice, Mary Rice — the manhunt is over with Billy dead and Mary in jail.
The pair was hiding in a motel in West Point, Georgia with the white car that was stolen from a home invasion on Monday — it belonged to a 28-year old mother of a 2-year old boy, who was shot on Monday -- (I said yesterday she was in critical condition) -- she died last night.
Her death makes Boyette and Rice quadruple-murder suspects.
When police surrounded the motel, both of them wouldn’t communicate or come out for a while. When a SWAT team arrived, Mary walked out and was arrested. Police heard a gunshot inside the room and found Billy dead, apparently he killed himself.
So that ends the manhunt, and Billy did make the choice to end up in a cemetery rather than end up in prison. As for Mary Rice, she was charged with capital murder.
Very sad for the four other women who died in the crime spree that continued for more than a week. It is still unclear what the two’s motive was.
