Wal-Mart Shopper Shoots and Kills Shoplifting Suspect

February 6, 2017

At a Wal-Mart in Orlando, Florida —a 50-year old shopper shot and killed a 19-year old male who was in the process of shoplifting (stealing) several carts’ worth of diapers and baby supplies. This happened on Saturday morning at the Wal-Mart parking lot.

The 19-year old now-deceased suspect, Arthur Adams, was with two others in the robbery. A witness saw the three pushing carts filled with diapers and baby supplies and throwing the things in a SUV. A Wal-Mart employee was charing them, telling them not to get in the car.

It was at that point that the shopper with the gun, described only as a 50-year old black male, fired several times in the direction of the shoplifters. The SUV drove off and hit two other cars, the name to a stop. The suspect then walked to a nearby gas station, collapsed, and died with bullet wounds to his stomach and legs. Another shoplifter (one of the three) went to the hospital with wounds to her legs. The third shoplifter has not been identified and there’s a search for her. The SUV they used was reported stolen in a carjacking on January 14.

As for the 50-year old shooter — he said he shot at the shoplifters because he thought one of them was reaching for a weapon. He is coopering with police in the investigation and it will be up to the state attorney’s office on whether he will face charges or not.

It has sparked an online debate on whether the man should have shot at the suspects or simply called the police.

Wow, that happened at a Wal-Mart in Orlando on Saturday morning.
