B-2 Bombers Mission in Libya

January 21, 2017

The Pentagon announced that two U.S. B-2 bombers struck two ISIS training camps in Libya overnight. They went on a 34-hour roundtrip flight — departing from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri -- then got into Libyan airspace and dropped 108 satellite-guided bombs on two training camps outside of Surt/Sitre, killing 80 to 100 ISIS fighters — then went around the world to come back to Missouri. The B-2 was re-fueled at least five times mid-air.

This is probably the last short-notice military operation that was approved/ordered by President Obama. It is reported that the bombs caused some ISIS soldiers to run away — and they were “cleaned up” by drone-launched hellfire missiles.

Wow, that’s a big impact on ISIS from one of our most advanced military planes.
